And the paint looked like it was washed with a scotchbrite pad, lots of micro scratches. (I looked at it pretty closely at the auction)

Wanted to update this thread, this car sold again at Barrett Jackson January 2019 for $132k (includes fees). Car had 551 miles, and still had chalk marks and all plastic.

I know zero about California, but I guessing this is for a smog inspection and it needs to be an OEM exhaust? Can you make it "look stock" with a boring Walker stock looking muffler (vs a very distinctive looking flowmaster, borla etc)? Maybe buy a set of pipes and have it all welded toget...

One upside, you can drive it and enjoy with out reservation, of damaging original paint, miles, or even a more substantial blemish.

You likely know this, and its not a direction you want to go but Hoosier has the R7 in that size. GREAT traction there. I have used these on a street car before.

I looked carefully at Tweed (for an 88), and a casual glance, its OKish. But it is far from exact. There is a thread / line in the OEM fabric that just isn't there in the TMI replacement (blue if I recall). Very easy to tell the difference if your looking for it, but that's if your psycho like me ab...
