We can use the sample of data we have on this site to make a VERY close estimate on how many are left.

Statistics. :-)

Okay... starting off..

I threw out the rows we didn't have a Mileage or VIN on and also removed the Cobra R's because they will need to be considered under different circumstances.

That gives us a sample data set of around 616 out of the 4993. 13% as a data sample is pretty good in stats.

The Average mileage of the sample set of Cobras is around 65,000.

We can extrapolate from this data that most Cobras were bought to be driven. This is good to know because when determining how many are left, we will need to divide them into 4 different categories.
1. The "Collector" - Meaning they were only bought for collect ability and simply stored. (Less than 10,000 miles in total)
2. The "Sunday Driver" - Meaning less than 1000 miles PER YEAR (Between 10k - 20k total)
3. The "Nice Weather Daily Driver" or aka "Daily driver later converted into the Sunday Driver" (Above 20k - Less than 65,000k miles in total)
4. The "Daily Driver" all through the year (65,000k +)

The "Collector" Cobras would not have the same rate of being trashed verses the "Daily Driver" Cobras.

So from this point we need to determine the avg number in each category... Stay Tuned.

Alright so....

1. The "Collector" (Less than 10,000 miles total) -> (50 of 617)
2. The "Sunday Driver" (Between 10k - 20k total) -> (52 of 617)
3. The "Nice Weather Daily Driver" (Between 20k - 65k total) (208 of 617)
4. The "Daily Driver" (65k +) -> (307 of 617)

Extrapolate this into a percentage for all 4993 Cobras

1. The "Collector" (Less than 10,000 miles total) -> (405 of 4993) 8.1%
2. The "Sunday Driver" (Between 10k - 20k total) -> (420 of 4993) 8.4%
3. The "Nice Weather Daily Driver" (Between 20k - 65k total) (1683 of 4993) 33.7%
4. The "Daily Driver" (65k +) -> (2485 of 4993) 49.7%

So.... Now the next part is a little more subjective. We need to determine the "Rate of Decay" meaning... At what rate we think each group would lose members.

Again, we need to think of the factors.

A car sitting in a garage all its life is MUCH less at risk then one on the road during rain and snow.

A "Daily driver" would not be as careful driving as a "Sunday driver"

Theft occurs on all cars, but it happens with cars that sit outside more often....

Things like this.
