Post by JoeM71 »

Do the sunroof cars come with some sort of shade on the inside to keep the sun out??

I have never seen one , you could probably make one though, make it so you velco could hold it but it could be easily removed. I have used a couple of layers of very dark window tint on mine in the past.

I had a 1979 Fox body Mustang that had a sunroof and a "retractable" cover. Ford immediately recalled this cover because it would come unhooked, block the drivers vision and accidents would occur. It was pretty neat though. I haven't seen one in 20+years.

It was a short lived option. Only on the 1979 model for a very short period of time. I wish I had a picture (sold the car in the early 80's) because every time this comes up, people think I'm crazy. I wish someone who has seen this shade would back be up!

If you ever look at a 1979 model, look at the corners of the headliner at the sunroof. There will be plastic gromments set into the headliner where this cover hooked to.

Anyone?

I haven't seen an OEM cover...

but you could do like I did on one of my t-top stangs several years ago. Find some good cardboard and cut it for a tight fit. Wrap in headliner material and wedge it up there.

Should work. Worked for me on t-tops. If it doesn't then you might have pissed away 10 bucks :D if my SVO wasn't in storage at a friend's place I would go look closer at its sunroof opening to see if for sure it would work
