The first time I ever saw a 93 Cobra was back in 1993 just after they came out. I had been drooling over them in magazines. I was out cruising in my 85 Mustang GT. I saw this awesome looking black Mustang sitting at the car wash. I pulled in to talk to the guy. As I got a closer look, I realized what the car was. I was in awe. It was a perfect looking black Cobra. The guy was pretty cool and let me look at the engine and interior. I thought "man, wouldn't it be sweet to have one of these."

I did not get one until 4 years later when I got out of college and could afford one. I worked at my new job for about 3 months and got a big raise. I was telling my brother about my new raise and he said that he knew how I could spend it. He had saw a red 93 Cobra at the Ford dealer the day before and was drooling over it. I went down that day and traded my 90 LX 5.0 for my 93 Cobra. I have loved every day I have owned it since then.

Man I like that Cobra Fender emblem you uploaded for me just fine, thanks. And by the way if there is any way you could change my user name from OLLETT to OL' LETT I would appreciate it. If not that's cool.

Well after graduating I still wasn't in a position to buy a car. So a few more years past and I finally got a secure career type of job. So after 5 years of just wanting a mustang and an additional 4 more years of waiting for a COBRA I started my search. I took my time and searched the internet high and low. Finally I found this guy in Cinncinnati, OH. who was looking to sell his. After receiving pictures through email and checking out the car through Carfax I was ready to buy.

The next problem I ran into was getting the car to me. The distance from me to him was probably around 570 miles.Transport agencies just seemed too high for me. The average estimate I got was around $500-$600. In the end I sucked it up and said I'm just going to have to go myself. So I bought a plane ticket flew to Lexington, KY where a friend of mine drove me to meet him. After the business was handled I was on my back to Alabama. The ride took just under six hours but it only seemed like 1. And that was about 6 months ago and I'm still excited liked I just got it.
Some people have names for their cars, well I don't but if I did it wouldn't be anything but PATIENCE.

Tough to remember exactly what was the first time I saw a 93 Cobra in person. But it was sometime early 93. But the one I remember most from that year was at the SAAC convention at Watkins Glen (SAAC-18). Ford always offers up some interesting vehicles to entertain Shelby folks. Well at this convention, they offered up a European Escort RS with a rockin Cossworth engine. This little car blew the DOORS off many original 289 Cobra's on the road course. Suprised many of us. But Ford was offering hot laps in this car and a teal 93 Cobra. Unfortunately the Ford driver pushed the capabilities of the teal car (more likely their driving skills) and crashed it. Crash wasn't bad enough to total the car, but it sidelined it for the rest of the weekend. I remember comments flying around near the end of the convention that the Ford employee who crashed the car drove it home to MI with an airbag in his lap.... Wonder what ever happened to the car or what # it was.

Also there was a vibrant red 93 that attended the events car show. A local SVT dealer brought it up hoping to peak interest in this car, as it was the last of the 4 93 Cobra's this dealer had. Apparently 4 Lightnings and 4 Cobra's were the min order for a SVT dealer. This Cobra remained in their inventory until March of 94. I drove it home in 14 inches of snow that March. #2205 was my daily driver for the first 2 years and has been in my garage since.

I haven't thought about this in years. Thanks for posting the original question.

To post a pic here, does it need to be hosted on some website? If so, any suggestions for where to place a couple pics? Just found photo's of my delivery and a shot 3 months before I bought the car.

Thanks
