Looks just about like what I would need to replicate the intake that originally was on my proto.

That would probably work for you speed, get the seller to send you a picture of the side view just to make sure it's smooth.

Guys is the ridge just a "trivia" type thing or does it hold some value or what? I imagine the intakes are no different except for this cosmetic difference?

It was a "flow issue" I heard.

Admin's the winner. The ridge was added to reduce objectionable harmonics created by incoming air in some of the early (smooth) upper intakes. Prior to the switch to the later intake with the ridge, the acoustic characteristics of the smooth intakes were evaluated, and only the "good" units made it to the assembly line.

The engine made the same horsepower/torque regardless of which intake was installed.

OK ... partial credit, just this once! ;)

Agree with Lynch on value. Although some may argue that the early build numbers are worth a little more.

Depends on if you own a car with a Early intake or not.

Ownership always dictates how important something is. :-)

A pre production car vs early intake car is a different story!

Not that it matters since Z has it narrowed down but just as backup evidence #576 has the ridge intake.

Anyone ever see the lower intake that was used with the early no rib uppers? Can anyone confirm that they are the same F3ZE part numbers? I ask because I purchased a lower intake that was supposedly separated from a 93 no rib upper. It has factory spray paint markings on it so it does appear to be a factory installed part.
