93 wheel backspace question HELP!

I have an original 93 with 8k miles and need to buy wheels for it. I have seen 93 replica wheels 17 by 8.5 on ebay but they are for 87 to 93 cars. From what I understand, they will stick out on the front. I want the front wheels to stick in alittle and the rear to be close to flush. I don't like the way the original wheels on the back looked (they stuck in ) So I figure I can buy two wheels from OE concepts (on ebay) so they are more flush with the lip on the rear and two welds for the front. PLEASE let me know what backspace I need on the front to make the wheels stick in a little. Thanks, also tell me if I' crazy

You could always use GT front brake rotors with the repro wheels.

So the 87 to 93 front rotors just bolt up with no other modifications? Problem solved for the front. What about for the rear? Will the backspace from the 87 to 93 cars work on mine? I don't like the way the factory rims sit inwards but I don't want them to stick out past the lip. Thanks for all the help!

the rear will work good as long as your tire is not too wide, but it will be close to the outside lip. And yes the front rotor will interchange.

I just saw a picture of a 93 Cobra R with the real ford 95 cobra R's and it looks killer. I think I will buy a set of the real 95 cobra R's. I know they make a 5 lug 87 to 93 front rotor, but do you know if they make the rear 5 lug rotors for our car? Thanks so much for the help! This website rocks!

I had the repro 4lug Cobra "R" wheels on my red cobra for a while with 245/45/17s had no problems other than the front would rub the inner top lip of the fender on a big bump. And they would rub the inner plastic liner on a hard turn . But they worked fine overall.

I think those wheels would look spectacular on a Cobra, or any Fox for that matter. Have you seen pics of this done by anyone yet?

What about the rear rotor from an SVO? They were 5 lug. Were 94+ Mustangs rear rotors a different size than 93 cobras?
