1992 cobra convertible

Post by pt88lx »

Im sure this has already been discussed but has anyone seen that black convertible at any car shows? talked with the owner about his car? I dont believe it is an svt promo, seems like just a dealer thing.

The certificate is clearly faked, the font is not the same style or size! Call svt with the vin and see if they laugh. No cobra verts, no 5.0 fender emblems on cobras , no storman Norman hoods, and no cobras in 92.

There is no data to backup any claim of this thing being a real cobra. If you want, get the vin and order a Martin report.

Speedfreek's 92 Cobra prototype is fully documented through the report.

And one more thing...

I see you're located in Vancouver; and assume that's Vancouver BC. I do know tht foxbody GT Mustangs sold in Canada were marketed as a Mustang GT Cobra. But it's no different than the GT sold in the US.

LOL, Im not interested in the car at all, Im aware that it is a fake, was just wondering if anyone off of here has talked to him in person to try and get through to him. I see him posting on multiple sites about his "cobra". Svtp pretty much summed it up for him yet he still believes what he does, just find it interesting.

There were two. But no verts.

No one will ever get thru to this guy he really thinks his car is a promotional edition 92 Cobra Vert. The bad thing is the people who will believe him because they dont know any better.

If he bought it thinking it is what he says it is I sure hope he didn't pay a premium for its "rarity".

Like everyone did when he finally posted it on SVTP. Heck Ray Charles could tell it was fake.

I talked to him in great lengths via PM's. Nice enough guy, and really likes his car. He's a member of a local car club, and even has a pretty cool 65' used for SCCA racing.

I and many others pointed out to him it's clearly NOT a product from SVT, has a fake cert, etc. But in his mind, the story he was told is legit, and he's talked with the owner of a red version. He truely believes what he was told, and could care less what the naysayers think.

Honestly, if he believes it, so what. He's owned the car for 10+ years and I don't see him trying to sell it as what he claim so it's really not hurting anyone.

Someone posted a pic of this "Cobra" and SVT cert a few days ago and several of us already commented on this car under the "Add Image to Post" thread in the Picture Gallery.
