Ok with the new version of phpbb we are running now we have better anti-spam settings. When a new member registers , he will fill out the info as usual , then he will see a question. This question is a means of preventing automated form submissions by spammers. I still have it set so that a admin has to activate the new acounts, just to be safe. But so far, for the last week or so it has been working fine, and i will probably change to self activation soon.
