exhaust question

Post by cbravnm »

My car has the original exhaust and one of the mufflers has a hole in it. i am going to do full exhaust but want to keep the original tail pipes or that look out the rear. What is the best option? Is there a reason to keep the original exhaust together for collectible reasons down the road given the condition of the mufflers? Thanks for any advice.

How many miles on the car?
Is it a rust hole in the muffler?

They should have a small hole in them to drain, back toward the rear lower section. The size of a pencil or smaller.

Cut them off and install an aftermarket and enjoy. Keep the tail pipes if you like, just cut them off real close to the muffler.

Thanks for the feedback. I will probably getting flowmasters which is what I have ran on all my previous mustangs.

I'd get a cat back setup of your choice, and remove your existing setup without cutting the tails. Maybe, just maybe, someone might pay good money for what you have even though one muffler is rusted. I've seen crazier things happen from restoration type guys.

The mufflers were unique for 93Cobras, and not many of them are left laying around.

Course it may be way to far gone for someone to patch up, but you never know.
