The big question of Wheel Caps

Post by POOBLAH »

Soo... its been a while (two years)

1. What should I expect to spend on a set of Wheel Caps if they are...
a. NOS
b. Great Shape
c. Good Shape
d. Poor Shape

Is it worth bothering to find the Ford versions or would aftermarket be just as good?

Nos sets came with a square sticker on the backs of them, is your car a low mileage show queen or a driver? I have never heard of how the aftermarket sets fit on OE wheels. As for price the NOS ones can be costly, slightly damaged on could be fixed to make them look nice. Someone wrote an thread how to get the circular look back in the caps.

The cars a Sunday driver (around 90k miles), and my goal has been to get it as close to factory original as possible.

The wheels are kind of a special circumstance because I'm planning on using the Current Cobra R's it has on it for when I drive it, and swap them out with a set of original 93 wheels during car shows.

The caps would only be in use during the car shows.

I have used the aftermarket caps on oe wheels and they worked fine. They fit tight and on the car they look fine.As long as you keep moving no one will ever notice that they are repro's

Yes, this was my thread. It worked much better than I expected and the old extra caps I had came out looking like new.
