Quarter window refinishing

Post by 93Cobra1928 »

What are y'all doing? I'm in the middle of a much needed repaint on 1928 and have the quarter windows out. The rubber molding is pitted and I'm debating on either attempting a refinish job if it's worth it or leaving them be. I'm planning on selling after I put it back together, knowing that, what would you do. It's a driver quality car.

I've seen guys hit them with a fine body filler to smooth out, the shoot them with SEM trim black to get them to look better. IMO if your re-painting the car it will make it look even better do something with them.

True, it will look better. I might see how well some high build primer will work. All of the metal trim has to be repainted. Previous owner left the car outside, I never have. Thanks for the reply.

It's couple hours of work, but will make it worth while in the long run especially with the restoration you are doing so far. If really desired there are some NOS one that pop up from time to time.

The work isn't a big deal. It would be if they were still in the car. I didn't want any tape lines so I pulled the quarter windows, bumpers, tail lights and ground effects. The parts were sprayed today and the body will be sprayed tomorrow.
