Cam swap with stock heads

Hey guys, I want to do a cam swap on my car but keep the stock heads.
I've been told this really can't be done because the height of the intake vs the exhaust is different and the retainers are different.

Does this make sense?
The explanation kind of went in one ear and out the other.
Is it hard or impossible to do a cam swap while using the stock heads?

Has anyone here used any other cam while keeping the original heads?

If so, please tell me what you used and if you had any issues.

Thanks.
Larry

Tons of people have done it. You won't gain but 5-7 HP on a stock motor. I would wait until you have your heads and blower, while you're at it replace your timing chain as well if it has higher mileage.....

Yes I know cam alone won't do much for performance gains. If any at all.
Although, I am after the lumpy idle now.

I really like the sounds of the b303 cam. I am trying to decide between the b303, e303, and tfs1, with the b303 being my favorite.
I know there are other cam makers out there, but I do like the sound of this one.

Has anyone ran the b303 cam with stock 1.7rr's and stock gt40 heads?
In addition, I was going to use this spring kit.

Is this the correct spring kit as well?

Thanks in advance for your time.

That spring kit will work now find your B cam and make it how you want it. Enjoy it but I would not run the 1.7's unless you check piston to valve
