Guys check out this youtube post. The comments are funny, personally I don't see how a stock engine can dyno 330+ RWTQ but what do I know lol.

I believe it.
I use to run a 13.6 on a stock 87 full load car 5.0 with 2:73 gears. I went through trannies that year though.
If he did the typical pullies, gears which he looks like hes running a 26" tire and skinnies up front.
Guys use to take off the sway bars too.

I know a guy running NHRA stock class with a 12.5 with a stock 93 cobra spec motor all balance and blueprinted in a race chassis.

In the old days you would really try and plan your build and get the most out of your parts.
But now most people just buy fast parts as they have come down in price so much and good used ones too.

What you are describing is not a stock setup. This guy is claiming a stock engine with exhaust and weight reduction. Balanced and blueprinted engines are not stock, most built like this assuming your not using stock internals or compression. Compression may or may not be 9:1. Anyone can have an engine built and crank up compression to 10.5:1 or more using all stock parts re-tune the engine and claim its all stock. IMO this would be the only way your getting 330+ RWTQ and 280+ RWHP using stock parts. Anyway the comments are what I think are funny. One guy is seriously pissed about the guys claims. lol

I understand your point about the balancing engine.
Was just making reference that a stock ho was typical of 14.0 from most people and both I and a friend did 13.6 stock with no susp, gears or slicks.
His appears to have susp work done with slicks and front skinnies but could be a stockish motor with 4:10 gears and a good driver.

This is yet one more example of "stock" vs. "modified". You see it all the time in guys selling their "all stock" cars and then you see cold air intakes, different exhausts, etc., etc. Stock should refer to a vehicle as it came from the manufacturer with NO changes. Anything else is modified, whether only slightly or more extensively.

The Cobra in question was clearly not a "stock" vehicle, although it certainly wasn't heavily modified. However, the biggest factor here that no one has mentioned was the guy says the weight of the car was down to 3060 lbs - a SIGNIFICANT reduction off the 3255 lb. curb weight from the factory. Power to weight ratio is a major factor in runs at the track and on the street.

It's why my supercharged '93 is faster than a lot of late model Mustangs, Camaros, etc. with more horsepower and torque but also a lot more curb weight. :drive:

^^Absolutely!!!

It's one of the biggest reasons why I was able to get a ported GT-40 motor with a B-Cam, blown to run a 10.40.
