1993 Cobra Values

Post by goodguydave »

Curious what you guys think about Cobra Value say ten years from now. I just bought one all original with 28k miles for 20k. Hoping they go up in value but the price tag now is really high. Maybe I paid too much but I do love the car and plan to sell once it is 30 years old or so.

Welcome to the site! Any pics? More details about your Cobra?

As for maybe paying too much, if you're satisfied with the price you paid for a car you really wanted then you got a good deal. In my humble opinion, these cars will spike a little more in value when they hit 25 years old, and then increase in value at a slower pace then they have in the last 18 months or so as they approach 30 years old.

Of course, any price increase in your particular car will be dependent on how many miles you put on it, how well it continues to age, etc., etc. At a purchase price of $20K with 28K on the odometer, don't just leave it in the garage for the next 7 years. Drive it and enjoy it!

If you buy these cars to make money and don't love them. You will get bored with it just sitting there and sell within a couple years. Seen it to many times. It's going to be another 20 years before these things really take off. Remember you will be paying 500 a year to insure the car every year too. So how much money are you really going to make? 22k plus tax, plus 500 a year for 10 years your in it for 30k. Jmo tho :wavey:

I love to drive the car so it will be hard to keep miles off :) But it is not a daily driver.

Nice looking Cobra! What's that SVT logo doing on the driver-side window of an all original car? ;)

LOL. I think the SVT stickers will come off pretty easily but if not I guess I will take of 2k when I sale it :P I think the previous owner really liked Having SVT displayed as you can see the plates say it too.

I mean it's all stock except for the gears, exhaust, supercharger, new heads, lowering springs, and some other things too LOL. And of course I've seen about a million ads saying all stock and then say except and have a list of crap.

X2, perfect example look at the guys who bought them new, put them up for the last 24 years and are now pulling them out with 1-5k miles and asking $32k. You paid $22k roughly for the car, let it sit, didn't really drive it and fast forward 24 years!!!! and you are lucky if you make $10k not factoring, oil changes, insurance etc. You are better off putting your money in the S&P 500. But if you love cars and love mustangs and you love the 93 Cobra its never a bad place to park your cash. You can't take your mutual fund out for a spin with the ole lady. :drive: :burnout: :smilsex:
