Kids and Kobras!

The 93 Cobra needed to be exercised today and the wife needed to make a Walmart run, so we took the grocery-getter out for a cruise!

When we got back, my newly permitted son was sitting in the living room. I told him it's time for some manual tranny training... Time for his first time behind the wheel of the 93! My 16 year old wanted to come and watch the fun:

You have to give my voice a "pass." I have a bit of a cold and lost my voice last night hoot'n and a-holler'n at the kiddos in my karate class.

He has only driven a manual a few times and did pretty well today. He just needs more seat time.

Not wanting my oldest (16) to feel left out, I threw him the keys to the 00R and said "let's go!" He has been driving one on Forza (video game) and I figured he'd enjoy the real deal.

I enjoyed the father-son bonding while playing with the cars today!

Today it was the 2011 and the 2004:

So my sons come to me this afternoon and say they'd like to go play mini-golf. I tell them that it sounds fun and we will have my youngest (15) drive the Shelby for the first time! Then my oldest (16) recommends we drive a couple cars in formation... Sounds even MORE fun! I ask him if he'd like to drive the Terminator with the new tires to check them out and he responds with a BIG thumbs-up!

So, to the garage we go and grab the Shelby and the Terminator. My 15 year old son has had very little clutch training and is a wee-tad nervous driving the Shelby into town!

Sorry for the grainy pictures/videos... My iPhone and its camera is dying a slow death!

I threw him to the wolves!

He ended up killing it quite a few time getting a little excited on gentle hills with cars behind him. It was a little stressful, but he learned a ton! In the big-picture, he didn't hit anything (including my 16 year old in the Terminator nearby) and he may have actually enjoyed it (a bit)!

We made it to mini-golf and had a good time (plus dad WON)!

On the return trip, I wanted to drive the 04 with the new tires, so my 16 year old drove the Shelby with my 15 year old riding shotgun with him.

Hope you all enjoyed the pics and videos. It was a special day for me as a father... Good father-son bonding!
