How much is our stock engines worth?

Hey guys,

I just picked up a 15' Coyote for my Cobra and was wondering just how much I could get for the stock power plant? Its got 70k miles, and engine wise is all stock. Obviously I don't expect big money for it that will finance my whole swap, but I just don't even know where to begin my asking price. Having hypertech pistons I also feel it's rather undesirable to some.

Bill

For the 1500 bucks you might get. Put it on a stand and keep it with the car. Bet you get 4-5 k more if you ever want to sell it

I completely understand preserving the resale value and respect everyones opinion on trying to keep these cars original. Everyone on here probably thinks I'm crazy buying a Cobra to essentially not use any of the drivetrain but thats exactly what I'm going to be doing. By the time I'm done with the Coyote Swap, it will have very few stock parts left on it. Not only do I not have the room to store all of this stuff, getting some money back would help pay for other mods or little things I haven't thought of yet.

My thoughts were around 1500$ as well, although I didn't think including the original engine would help the resale of the vehicle by 4-5k if I ever got to that point. Of course, like everyone always says, I have no plans on selling my car.

I too would keep the original engine with the car. Whether you end up needing it in the future or the next owner does, it will be nice to have with the car. I keep all of my OEM stuff I take off.

Also of note, when you say you just picked up a "15' Coyote," you are saying you got a 15-foot coyote. That's a big-ass dog! The ' would go where numbers were removed - as in 20 of 2015 to make: "I just got a '15 Coyote."

...love the grammar police.

I guess my terrible grammar must have distracted you from the original question. How much do you think a stock 93 Cobra motor is worth with 70,000 miles on it? I didn't ask for anyone's opinion on wether or not I should sell it. If I cared about how original It was I wouldn't have bought my car to begin with.

I'd keep the long block.
I bought a complete stock long block to piece together #3565 and paid about $1,500 with 1k miles.
Keep the engine IMO

I know you dont care about any one else's opinion, but why buy a cobra just to rip it apart? Werent there enough GT's or LX's available to do that to?

So I can have a real '93 Cobra with a coyote engine in it.
