Getting it painted

I'm having my black '93 painted. It's getting the full treatment. Parts removed and down to the metal. Can anyone provide paint codes for the ground effects amd any other parts that are different from the body color? Wheels as well would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!

The black paint code (UA) is the same for the spoiler, ground effects, bumpers and metal. The windshield trim, cowl grille and side mirrors are a flat black (not sure what the code is).

The mouldings in the center of the doors (I'm assuming you have new pieces to put on the car when the painting is finished) are black from the factory and do not get painted. Be careful if your shop is attempting to remove and replace those pieces. They can be relatively easily damaged in the removal process and difficult to re-use. If replacements aren't available, many shops will leave them on and paint them to match the rest of the car.

Yea they are a pain to remove I'd leave them on and just paint them on the car. LMR sells repops tho if you decide to take them off.

Are the LMR pieces to be painted or like the factory ones? I also see some bad experiences with them and the adhesion. Better to paint the stockers on the car or go with those?

You're probably better off leaving the stock pieces on the car and painting them.

LMR's have to be painted as well they aren't like the injection molded originals.

Great job having the car stripped down before paint. I would take off those door moldings 100%. Try to find some NOS molding and have them painted before they are installed. That way your entire door will be painted and you won't have any tape lines. Are you going with NOS quarter windows?

As far as the wheels being painted I recommend sending them to Wheel Collision Center in Bath, PA. I have used them for years and their work is impeccable. You can pay them extra to do a show finish to the inner barrels which comes out very nice. Basically the inner barrels will have the same smooth surface and finish as the face of the wheel.

The mouldings are coming off. The quarter windows are in excellent condition OEM.

Having the body shop do the wheels. Providing them with paint PPG paint. Plenty of clear over it.
