Hi guys,

I purchased Autocheck for a month and found something odd about this car.

Autocheck states that there is NO PROBLEM with the odometer but it states that in 2007 the odometer read over 123,000 miles and in 2012 it read only 32,000 miles.

Here is what the Autocheck stated:

OdometerCheck

Your vehicle checks out! AutoCheck examined the reported odometer readings reported to AutoCheck for this 1992 Ford Mustang LX (1FACP40E9NF143597) and no indication of an odometer rollback or tampering was found. AutoCheck uses business rules to determine if reported odometer readings are significantly less than previously reported values. Not all reported odometer readings are used. Title and auction events also report odometer tampering or breakage.

0 Problem(s) Reported:

Mileage

Date Reported

123,341
07/20/2007 not included in rollback calculation

32,336
03/06/2012

What does " not included in rollback calculation" Mean??

Also, the car was stolen in 1992 and recovered.

Thanks for your feedback.

Someone reported the milage at 123,000 then the second guy reported 32,000 when it was actually 132,000. The odometer doesn't have enough spaces to show the 100,000 space.

X2. Yet another example of why you have to be careful with Autocheck and Carfax reports. They frequently don't show accidents and are not always 100% accurate.

i also had a guy doing an inspection write 160,000 down , when the car had 60,000 , he said "a 1993 has to be 160 not 60 cause its so old."

Usually a wreck takes a while to show up, check yours again in 3 or 4 months.

How many miles is the car being posted for sale with? Overall condition should show the true miles.

The car has 34k miles and the car looks legit. I talked to the owner before the current owner and he says that the miles was put in wrong by the shipping company when he bought it and a letter from carfax correcting this problem comes with car.
I already sent the guy a $1000 deposit through Paypal.

I'm still looking for a Mint 1993 Cobra!!!

Thanks all!
