whoever did the body paid ridiculous attention to detail on the repaint. the doors are painted inside the skins even. i'll get more pics as i go, these were what i was able to take qucikly.

Any vin stickers on the bottom of the doors?

can't find any tear tags anywhere. leads us to believe it was totaled by insurance and rebuilt with different VIN or theft and was parted.

in the pic of the COBRA hatch badge you can see where it was masked off for the repaint.

And the door sticker was put on after the door was painted

that one was definitely removed and added to the door. It doesn't look like the inside of the door was repainted so we believe those are original doors also.

thanks to the nice weather in PA we had some time to start taking more of the "clone" apart. to our dismay we found the FRONT bumper was in fact OEM. . the header panel was replaced as you can see from the pic.

Also note, the door VCL is not even a 1993 VCL, in fact, it's at least a 1985 or 1986 VCL (as well as actual VIN on it). In 1987, the VCL went all white (as well as 1988 and some 1989). Starting at some point in 1989, the entire VCL label format and fonts were changed, as well as a large barcode being added to the center of the VCL. That new format carried over to all 1990-1993 Mustangs.

Someone went through a great deal of trouble either hiding the original identity of the 93 Cobra donor parts and/or trying to create a very close "clone" of a 1993 Cobra.

On the tops of the fenders, the flat part that would be screwed to the tops of the engine bay inner fenders - are there any factory stampings into the metal (this may reveal the date stamping of the sheet metal)?

What VIN was found under the fenders on the L & R VIN tabs at the top of the inner fenders (these can only be seen once front fenders are off) - does that VIN match that of the dash VIN and VCL door label?
