Come on, DB. Get creative! I'm sure a smart guy like you can figure out a way to stuff three car seats into a car with no back seat! ;)

Already know that ... used to be in the business. That's why I posted that comment to DB ... figured he was not getting the deal he thought he would even though he mentioned he was paying cash. When I sold cars, I spent a lot of time having to convince buyers a cash deal was of no extra benefit to the dealership.

He could probably do the same with the Internet and some tough negotiating. Not to take anything away from your very kind offer.

Now, if you could get him that Pathfinder less the holdback, etc., that would be a VERY, VERY kind offer. ;)

Ya I'll give him our cost. What we buy them from the 3rd party distributer. Nissan doesn't sell right to dealerships that's one reason they suck. It's a new body-stile so some peps aren't discounting them a lot. But I don't care he's not buying it from us.

In nearly all purchase situations, you will be able to get a significantly better deal on a leftover vehicle rather than the brand new model year vehicle. If you were going to lease, you'd likely be better off with the brand-new model.

We usually get great deals at Nissan, we get real close to cost and on our last deal we got more for our trade than I could have privately sold for. My wife got her 2010 Pathfinder after the 2011s were on the lot and we got a smoking deal.

I just picked up a 2013 Nissan Frontier PRO-4X and got almost what I paid for my Nissan Altima sport on trade and I owned it for 2 years. On their "final-offer" I got up and said I was going to buy a Tacoma and the manager stopped us at the door and gave me my price.... Drove it right to my buddies shop to have a leveling kit / suspension lift installed, 3.5 inches in front and 1.5 inches in back. Now have clearance for 33s down the road and love the look. They are to "low" stock! :headbang:

Nissan was also offering 0.9% financing - you should consider dropping a large down payment and investing the rest of your coin.

DB - tell the dealer you have a deal on another car / suv, but, your wife likes the Nissan a little more and they need to either come down on price or up on the trade-in.... I don't think they will let you walk out the door and lose a sale..........

Just my advice for what it's worth.
