Teal/Black #199 in Texas
Ok, I have given it some more thought and decided to go ahead and go with it, so here it is.
For Sale:
1993 Ford Mustang Cobra - #199 of 4993
1 of only 185 produced in this color combination
Car is located in Rockdale, TX.
$13,500
This ad is pretty much copied over from the previous owner with a few slight changes.
The Good:
Teal Exterior / Black Cloth Interior
73,700 original miles
ALL VIN tags in place
Original Paint
CLEAN Car fax, Clear title in my name
Exterior: 8.5 out of 10
Interior: 9 out of 10
This is an excellent condition 93 Cobra that has the very difficult to find black cloth interior. I have owned it about 1.5 years and have only put about 150 miles on it during that time. It hasn’t spent a single night out of the garage since I have owned it. This car was originally sold in Las Vegas, NV and was owned in that area until Jan 2007. At that point, it was brought to the Houston, TX area. There is NO RUST anywhere on this vehicle.
This is a low production number vehicle and has the correct "1st run" upper intake on it. As shown in the picture below, the end of the upper does not have the raised "ridge" that runs the length of the plenum. There are only a few hundred of these intakes ever produced. The exact number of teal/black cars with this intake is unknown, but it's likely to be only a handful. I do not have the original SVT certificate but do have a reproduction for it from SVT.
The car starts every time and runs great. It has a fresh alignment, from the previous owner, lots of tread on the Dunlop tires.
The Bad:
This is a 20 y/o car with the original paint and drive train. Third gear will grind a little when the car is cold but will clear up once it warms up, so it probably could use new synchros in the transmission. It was that way when I bought the car and hasn’t been a big enough issue for me to fix just yet. The hood and the leading edge of the roof have some minor "checking" and minor rock chips that are common with these cars. The factory wheels are not peeling, but do have some minor lip damage. It is not a pristine show vehicle, but with that being said this is cleaner and nicer than 98% of Fox Body cars left out there.
Car includes tasteful modifications:
- H&R Sport Springs
- Tokico adjustable struts/shocks
- 3.73 gears & FMS Auburn Diff
- Flowmaster exhaust
- FMS Ceramic Coated Shorty Headers
- Short-Throw Shifter
- Aftermarket stereo
MANY OF THE STOCK PARTS ARE AVAILABLE
Here are some pics of the checking-blemishes in the paint mostly on the leading edges of the hood.

Yep, I would really like to see it go to someone who appreciates these cars like we do. At least it would make me feel better about the sale LOL.
