Here is my opinion on the car and it's like everyone else's worthless. The guys on this site, svtperformance,or the corral are mustang guys. They respect the 1993 cobra and worship it. Sometimes I think this gets in the way of the true market value. I also think there are 3 different types of buyers that are interested in a 1993 cobra. The first group is younger guys that can scratch and save 8k to 12k and buy junker cobras or maybe get lucky and find a decent driver in that range. The next group of buyers is looking for a decent car at a decent price. This is where you find the majority of 1993 cobras bought and sold on the web. These cars have between 25k and 50k miles and range from 14k to 20k in price. The final group of buyers are purist and have the money. They are after the wrapper cars or very nice cars at a nice price in the 20k to 30k range and they are also the ones that buy the cobra Rs.
If your car had less than 5k miles on it I'd be knocking on your door tommorrow offering you 22k to 25k for it. Trust me I wish you were selling what I was looking for because you're alot closer to me than alot of other cobras. The downside for you is your car has over 70k miles, has some paint issues, which I really appreciate you being honest about and I believe you when you say it's not as bad in person, and the tranny issue the car has. Truth is both are tickin time bombs and will cost the next owner some money to fix. Not alot but some. Because of this your car is only marketable to the first group of buyers I talked about. They may have scrapped up the 12k to buy it but they are tapped out. Thats why they can't afford to pay the $1,500 to $2,000 to ship the car. The low ball offers you're getting are more than likely coming from guys that have deep pockets and can afford wrapper cars. The reason they are lowballing you is because they don't want to lose money on the deal. Your cobra isn't exactly what I'm looking for, but I'd be interested in it in the 10k range. At this price I feel I could buy it, enjoy it, and at anytime I needed to get out from under it I could break even or maybe make a grand or two.
Anyways thats my 2 cents. I do appreciate you being honest about the car. I've driven hundreds of miles several different times to buy a car only to find out the seller was a lieing sack of shit. If I was in your shoes I'd pull the car and relist it around tax return time. Then alot of younger guys will be walking around with a couple extra grand and will be able to afford the car.

Wow On your 4th post even!
To offer him 10K for this car is just Silly! if you can find a Teal Black car it this shape for 10K please show me the way, As I know of NONE!
A car is worth what someone will pay, If I was in the market, I would be all over this one, I don't mind the Minor Paint flaws, It is a driver car, as for the trans, it could last another 100K miles till it needed fixed.
Not trying to offend you, but the day of the 10K teal black cloth car is GONE! Maybe you can find a 150K mile car, that needs more work. But I think his asking price is easily fair. Car is Clean Straight, and has all original paint, and vin tags, very hard to find these days

Call me crazy, but I've never been a fan of black interior. Is it better than porno red hell yeah, but my favorite is grey tweed. I think his price is decent, but the buyers interested in that car don't have 13k laying around. Times are still tough for alot of folks. He's done everything right to sell the car. Posted it all over the internet, taken good pics, and given a good write up on the car. So tells us why you think it hasn't sold.

I remember when this car was for sale a few years ago when I was looking for a teal/blk/sunroof.
If, this one had a sunroof, I would easily given $13k for this car, even without a sunroof it's still worth it, IMO! Your just not going to find a decent clean mid-mileage teal/blk now a days that's not either cut up for mods, having rust issues, or are dirty as hell. Shoot, I paid just below $10k for a 150k mile teal/blk/sunroof with having a faded front bumper, replaced fender, and some rock chips on the hood. The key selling points was overall condition with NO rust, NO rips or tears in the interior, all stock motor that has never had the intake off, and most of all.. a honest seller from this site.
Stick to your price AT11, when the right buyer comes along and has done his/her research and relize that they will be searching for LONG time for anything better then this car, then you should have no problem getting close to what your want. I think.
To this day, I still haven't seen anything better then this mid-mileage Teal/Blk #199 and car #195 that was recently for sale within at this price range.

Thanks for the positive comments guys, except for Duke LOL. And as for Duke one of the interested parties was an older gentlemen that I personally know and has plenty of cash believe me. He just doesn't like the idea of spending so much on shipping and has made the comment about possibly flying in and driving the car back instead of throwing it away. I can tell that you are one of those extremely opinionated fellows who knows everything and you are always right and everyone else is always wrong, yes I know the kind you are. And for the record once again, NO I will not take the $8k you offered me for the car. Go find me another teal/black in this condition for that price and I will buy it too. As far as the transmission issue, like I said drive it 10 minutes and it goes away when it is warm. I could probably get 50,000 more miles minimum out of this transmission with no issues. When its warm it shifts like butter and when its cold it only does it every now and then. Hell the stock clutch cable could be stretched a little causing it some time also who knows. These are just little things I mention that most sellers wouldn't even bring up because like I said I like to bring up any issues I can think of so the buyer knows exactly what they are getting, just being honest. Anyway its not a big deal to a true mustang guy. It is a pretty damn easy and inexpensive task to pull a transmission and replace it or have it rebuilt if it bothered someone that much if you have even a little bit of savy of working on cars and where to find decent deals on parts. Although if you want my opinion, it would be a total waste of time, it doesn't need it. If I were to make this car my daily driver, I would do nothing but put gas in it and go. I guarantee the transmission issue would not even be there unless you were wanting to drag race the car from a cold start. If you shift slow into 3rd, it will not even grind when cold, only if you are a fast shifter. So go ahead and find your mint cobra with 5,000 miles on it in your perfect color combo with original paint, clean title, and carfax for $10k. More power to you. You obviously are new to this market and kind of remind me of someone on a used car lot looking at a NADA or KBB who doesn't even know what a 93 cobra is. Hell man, you are 2 hours away and haven't even came to look at the car so how can you say you were even somewhat interested? Good luck with your search.

Pretty harsh man the guy just posted his opinion. Is he crazy because he doesn't like black interior? Or because he offered $10k for the car? LOL.

No stressing here or getting upset at all though it may seem like it over typing on the forum when trying to make a point LOL. I know the car will sell to the right person. I am not hurting or in no hurry to sell it at a low price or anything, I just agreed with someones comment that I can't believe it hasn't sold yet and people formed the opinion that I was desperate to sell. Believe me I'm not, I'm just thinning down the herd for the time being and after all this have even thought about just selling my coupe for now and keeping the cobra. I am going to sell one of them. I went back and forth on which car to sell and basically it came down to the one I drive the least for now. Thats not to say I won't miss it and buy another one in two months LOL, I have been known to do that and am looking all the time! There is no hurry, there is no stressing, not desperate either, just thought it would have sold already. Thats all LOL. It's all good here, someone will get a great driver car.trackpilot wrote:Don't stress it man. You have a nice car. No need to lower the price or get upset about all the lowball offers. You WILL sell it. You just have to wait for the right buyer for this type of car.
