Black/Leather, Needs Body and Paint

Post by SVT4942 »

15k miles on the drivetrain, 23k miles on the body. Numbers match. Black exterior with Leather interior.
I've pieced together all OEM parts to include the CD player, floor mats, and window sticker. Only mods left are spark plug wires, exhaust, long tube headers, subframe connectors, and 3:73 gears.
Body and Paint guy made errors and will not correct his mistakes (long story). Body panels are still removed to go back under the knife.
Only fault left is Air Bag Code 22 (safing center output circuit has shorted to battery voltage).

$23k either apart or I can put it back together for you.
I'll try to resize my pics to upload on here.

If she doesn't sell outright, I will be doing Super Bowl squares to raffle it off as is.

Interesting.

So did the car have a different drive-train in it for a while? And just curious, what did the body shop screw up?

Yes, he had a different engine and transmission in for 8k miles to race it at the track. When he was done, he had his shop reinstall the original drivetrain.
There is a few fisheyes from oil being in his lines, burnt through the paint on the edges and front corners of the front fenders, clear coat runs, and didn't even spray paint the bottom of the front and rear bumper. We ended on a terrible note, said I need to take it as is. I tried to report him to BBB, but I'm pretty sure he protected himself by not having a "business name".

wow sorry to hear about the bad experience,, why I hate having to do paint and body.. it seems like with my luck they always make a mess of things... everything else i can do myself except paint... Im almost to the point of just forcing myself to learn.

good luck with the sale seems like a good price for a car that would end up together pretty clean

Wow, that sucks to say the least, I can see why your're holding it as is.

I hear ya 69boss, same way with shit any more..........nobody takes pride in the work they do. Nothing worse than paying a fair amount of money for sloppy, half-ass work.

GLWS, somebody willing to take on a little project should snap it up. Put it on FB, seems to be where everyone is nowadays. You'll get a lot of tire kickers, but worth a shot.

Are all VINs in place? Hard to tell from the pictures... Hopefully you didn't take a complete bath on the paint job $$$$$.

Yes, all vin stickers are present and the engine and transmission are matching numbers.

I appreciate the comments. I understand a lot of guys are laughing at this on FB because it’s not together, which doesn’t bother me. If no one is interested in picking up this lower mile, I don’t see any issues raffling it off this Super Bowl or next year. I’m in no rush at all.

Meh, whatever. It's no different than asking $18-20k for a car with 150k on the odometer which I've seen quite a few. When it's all said and done, you'll have a sub 60k mile car.

I've got my red car out there, no different, it will take a certain kind of buyer but I don't think you're out in left field on this.
