I just had my rims redone with that code. I had them stripped (they were chromed) and a friend of mine did the paint work. I had them clear coated because my friend said that the paint code is a base color and is designed to be covered with another layer (IE clear, pearl, etc.) As-is, the base color would be susceptible to discoloration from cleaners/tire dressing.

Latemodel Resto sell the paint in a rattle can. Pretty hard stuff to use though, most of the time it spits and sputters. I always have to shake the heck out of it, and set it in a sink full of hot water for about 5 minutes, shake it p and let it sit some more. the color is almost a dead match, but a 13 year old wheel wont look like a freshly painted wheel. Im about to redo mine.

Looks good! Let us see it when you get them on the car. I would like to see them with the caps and tire to get a true feel for the color. I have seen several that were grayer that stock after refinished. But it sure seem like that is the code that gives them that whitish shiny glow in the right light.
I haven't installed the caps because the ones I have are chromed, not machined finish. I'm going to order machined caps tomorrow.Cobra4683 wrote:Looks good!
