Nice car ... but you would pay $88K for a car that the prior selling dealer sold for $59900?

I dont think the previous dealer got the $59,900 for it. I think that is above market for the car and they didn't have it long enough.

Twin got $50k for his 2k mile car on Ebay so who knows they probably got mid $50s for it.

All I know is I called Marshall Goldman to ask about the car and was told by one of the sales reps that the car had sold. I then asked him if he could tell me the selling price and he told me $59,900.

Didn't have it long enough? I used to be in the car business and if a buyer was available and there was a profit to be made, a car received via a trade, through an auction, etc. could be turned around and sold within 24 hours.

He could have just told you the listing price because he didnt know the actual sales price and he wanted to get off the phone with you. Ive seen that done before too-

Anything's possible. But we actually spoke for awhile and he was going to take my contact info if I was in the market for that kind of car. He had no reason to lie about the sell price and he seemed genuinely interested in getting my info in case they got another one to sell. I believe the Marshall sell price in this case was $59900.

The recent history of this car actually makes sense to me. A dealer with no real knowledge of the car lets it go for well below market value to M.G. They turn around and make a quick profit when selling to the current owner, who has substantially marked it up trying to make a killing on it. Capitalism at its finest.

Yea its really funny, just think what did the first dealership
Pay for it that claimed to not know what it was!

Im really suprised MG sold it that cheap I thought their sales tactic was to buy cars then mark them so high they have to sit on them for a few years and hope to find a sucker.

Then you have these dreamers that own it now.

This car was the Sasquatch in the gillingham ford 1988 pics. We called gillingham to try to buy it for are lot. Mike said they sold it to current dealership. But they got it off a wholesaler that was looking for one for the owner. But they flipped it quick to his buddy that owns switch cars at a small profit. So he says. Ran carfax yesterday to confirm his story looks legit.
Remember wholesalers get their cut to I bet it is close to 72-75k in it.
These tards that think we can make 20-40k on a car have no clue. We would all be retired

Well would someone pay $100k plus for a elephant motor cuda when they were roughly $5k new? Yep all the time, the 93 cobra is my favorite car and this is the holy grail for them, just over 100 ever built and built to be a factory race car (whether done correctly is debatable) in 20 or so years who knows could be worth well over $100k

You tried to buy this 93R in 1988? :?

Cant really follow your story as I dont know Mike, but if my math is correct $88k-60k is roughly $30k......I dont think dealers make that much on selling one car as the car wont sell at $88k in this market but they dream big-nothing wrong with it just noted.

Then where does M & G fit into the story? They had it listed, not gilliingham.
