Looks to me like R prices are finally coming back to reality and standard Cobras are on the rise.

Yea I remember when R prices took off. They got to high to quick. Now they seem to be coming back down. This car a few years ago would have already been snatched up at even the 65k it started at. Id say in the 40-50k range interest would pick up. I think the collectors looking to put cars back for an investment want something that they can speculate will increase in value where these R's are already up there, you can still find nice examples of the standard cars in the 20-30k range which in the end would provide more bang for your buck per say. I know a few who have unloaded their R's and put 2 or 3 standard cars in their place.

Don't expect these prices to hold very long....The curve is up on all 3 R models, and there is really no way to set rigid market prices, because so few are sold......We are in the winter months, so sales and prices are soft.......Once these cars are bought after the original owners sell, they may not reappear for sale for 5-10 years, and then the prices will be up substantially......Don't wait to look for a price you think is magic....The 1993R's are in the 50K range and will be moving up......and only 1-2 come for sale on an annual basis......And frankly as a buyer/collector on a "budget" where 2-5K is going to make a big difference in your buying decision for these very low-number rare cars, you might look for something like a really pristine 93 Cobra, or 07 Shelby GT where pricing is more reasonable, and you are still getting pristine lower-mileage cars that also have upward price momentum........Just an opinion, based on watching and buying R models since 2000

Think of it like this, if you pay a premium for an R, call it 60 grand in hopes of it paying back 20-30 grand in the future or pay 60-70 for 3 standard cars in hopes each will payback 10-20k in the future you come out better with the standard cars. I think R prices spiked a while back they were bringing over 65k on a regular basis and I remember a few in the 75-80k range. I dont see them being anywhere near that for a while, whereas the standard car still has room to grow. Like I said I know guys who have R's and talked to one yesterday and he said the same thing the R's just dont have the growth potential right now as the standard cars as far as an investment standpoint.

Although I agree with speed, I also agree with sandy. I think these 93 R's will peak upwards of 80-90k in another 10-20 years. This car is worth 55-60k all day long. And if I had extra funds for free money I'd pick it up, but 401k and company stocks and paying off house, I think are a better investment right now.

Nice car sandy :!:

Nice car sandy :!:
I too think it is and that is essentially what he is asking with shipping included and no one is beating down the door for it. I just dont think the market is there for the R's at the moment. The black car he had sold in what a week or two?

I thought you could list both fixed price with offer and auction-style at the same time...Some people like the auction format, some like to offer....But ebay decided it was duplication and delisted and refunded my fees.....Have decided to just relist on fixed price scheme.......

Fixed price with make offer has always worked better with me. Then you weed out your grade schoolers sitting at home with daddy's account bidding on stuff. And in the chance your reserve gets met you owe Ebay fees and its a pain to get them back. Where as the fixed price you aren't charged final value fees unless you sell.
