Rear end break in

Post by Guest »

I just had my 3.73 gears installed. I was wondering about the break in period for them? The guy just told me not to beat on it for 500 miles. Do you guys think I should have the oil changed after the 500 miles is up??

None that I ever heard of or was aware of.

I hope its not a 500 mile warranty on the work.

A good friend of mine, that was a Ford tech for many years, says that rear end break-in is a joke. Its a way for shady shops to point the finger at you if something goes wrong with your rear end and not cover repairs. Every time he does gears in my cars, he beats the piss out of it leaving the shop. This is even after him saying he would fix anything that goes wrong with the rear end. I have yet to have a problem with any of the gears he has installed for me.
