A tko 500 will require a different drive shaft yoke too.

You will need a different bell, shifter, and 31 spline yoke. Everything else is good to go.

And clutch too, 26 spline in and 31 out. This guy has everything but the clutch. Made him an offer....fingers are crossed.

Must have upgraded the input. You can get it with either 10 or 26

The Tko has a higher 1st gear at 3.27. Is this enough to be a noticeable difference?

Yup. I found that out the hard way. I bought a used tremec 600 setup(tranny, shifter, bell, driveshaft, etc) for like $2200. I used it a year, maybe 2K miles, and then put it up for sale. I put it up asking 2K I believe. A guy 5 hours south of me says deal but only if I deliver it. Fine. I do, he pays cash, and all is well. A week later he calls me all pissed saying I ripped him off, and it's a 500. Luckily I was able to link him to the corral thread where I bought it, stating 600. He says he specifically wanted the 500 for the gearing, and has proven the internals are that of a 500. He now wants his money back. I tell him I'm sorry, but I didn't lie to him, and if he wants a refund I'll return 1700 if I have to come get it. He didn't respond after that.

There's usually a reason why things are a killer deal...turns out the case was cracked and repaired and I didn't want to dick around with that. Anyhow, found another TKO500 (10 spline but all I need) and it's on the way...
I'll be happy not to have the grind into 5th and the pop-out when I downshift into second...
Anyone running a billet aluminum flywheel? If so, how do you like it? Worth the extra chedda?

I have one in the Red car. It all depends on the setup really. If your mostly stock, stick with an iron piece, as they work better down low. Aluminum is just good for lightening up the rotational mass and high reving engines.

Well I think my next big purchase will be a Novi so that's why I'm thinking maybe do it now while I got it all apart. Idk...
Ordered a MGW for it too. Can't wait!

So I bought my tko on the 9th and shipping was supposed to be only a few days, it made it to my town according to their tracker it was on the truck for delivery and then the 120lb wood crate with my tranny just disappeared and has yet to be found.... How do you loose a huge 120lb box?
