Brake Pads

Post by #2098 »

What are the best brake pads to upgrade over stock? I am changing the Cobra rotors for GT rotors as some of you have suggested to bring the replica wheels in closer, any suggestions ?

The Hawk's are great pads, but they dust more than stock, especially if you get them hot like in auto X or track days.

EBC green stuff are good also for street use and they have excellent bite even when cold.

I don't care for ceramics as do not have the same 'bite" but they hardly dust at all. HPS is a great all around pad. HP+ when you want to go on track. Are you gatting fade with track use or in the street? Sometimes old pads can glaze over.
Also what brake fluid are you using and how often do you change it?

Got some Blue Hawks last week. They are certainly better but only provide the bite I was looking for when you mash the pedal. Still, better than stock. For the price, I would get them.

Hawk blue is a race pad. Not a good idea for street as the have to be hot to work properly. Thats is why you have to stomp them in normal use
If you think is bad now wait until cold weather comes

I strongly suggest you pull them and use Hawk HPS's
