Motor Mount Suggestion?

Post by tliss »

Guys,

Well, what started out to be a simple exhaust swap has gotten a bit complicated. Found out the motor in my car is sagging a bit and I need new mounts. Basically the BBK shorty headers went in but now the steering linkage won't go back together correctly, and after further inspection the mounts need replacement. Any recommendations?

Thanks,
Tom

Stock Ford replacements is what I used on all my cars. but don't get convertable mounts as they drop the engine 1/2" and you will have fan/shroud contact.

Here are some options

http://www.latemodelrestoration.com/pro ... tor-Mounts

I got a set from Autozone once and they would not even line up with the bolt bosses in the block. They were made in India!

If you go with the Energy Suspension mounts, keep in mind they sit the engine a bit higher.

I am an engine mount virgin here...what are Energy Suspension mounts and where can I get some?

Also, solid mounts or urethane? Thoughts?

Thanks. Unfortunately all that is shown for the 93 on latemodelresto is the convertable mounts...the stock Ford mounts are for the 4.6...

Any other links for stock Ford mounts?

Looks like they may have changed the design a bit to lower the engine and mimic the vert mounts.

Nice find Willy. That includes the tranny mount as well, and he's got wiggle room on his asking price. I'd jump on this if your in the market.

I ended up picking up a set yesterday, so I am good to go! Thanks for all of the help guys! Not I just have to get them in so I can finish up putting it back together and actually hear the new exhaust! It's been over a month since the exhaust got buttoned up!
