Door Lock Actuator?

Post by JohnLynch »

I replaced my door lock actuators just a few months ago, the drivers side always seemed to be a PITA to unlock with the key, and by trying to unlock it from inside it would not unlock.

Now the key will not unlock it or the switch inside, I finally got the door open dont ask me how, and the latch on the door is closed not sure how I managed to do this but now I cant shut the door F$$K

any ideas wtf is wrong with my door? Now I cant shut it and it wont unlock so basically I cant drive it unless I keep my arm on the door

Did you get the rod jammed in the door latch? If not take the panel off and remove the rod from the actuator to help figure out what's the problem.

Will, The latch on the inside of the door is half locked and half open which wont allow me to shut the door.

When I turn the key the Rod doesnt move?

did you use new actuators or used? sounds like its froze up the originals are bad about that . i think the rubber boot would tear then water would get inside and they start sticking. at least the door is open so you can remove the door panel and check it.

Sounds like the actuator is stuck. Disconnect the actuator rod and see if you can get the latch to open. Also with the actuator rod disconnected hit the lock/unlock to see if the actuator is moving.

Broken window LOL, probably have to adapt an alarm with it to get a decent keyless entry system. Viper, they have knock offs also, may try to find a factory one also.

You can get the Viper 211HV for $43 on Amazon; it's just keyless entry and doesn't have an alarm. Best Buy has it for $150; installed. I'm thinking about having Best Buy do it; I'm pretty sure I'd do $100 in damage trying to install it myself.
