Starter Run-On

Does anyone know what causes starter run on after the car starts on these factory mini starters? My 3503 did it and now my buddy has an 89 LX with a 93 starter in it doing the same thing. Starter has been rebuilt and we have also spaced the starter out with a spacer and it still does it.

Any ideas?

Starter solenoid is probably going bad, try changing it and see what happens.

Make sure it's wired right. Every wire at the solenoid should be on the left post (as you face the solenoid from the pass-side of the car), except for the smaller of the two going to the starter. If you have both starter wires going to the right post, it will start but will tend to run on.

Changed the solenoid. Still did it. Put in the stock big starter and doesn't do it. Strange.

are you talking about the newer starter with soleniod made on it, and you have a jumper from the battery terminal to the soleniod?
