Wind Shield Wipers

Post by dustin9187 »

I bought new ones the other day and when I went to take the existing off, I couldn't. It looks like you just pull off, but I didn't want to break anything. Is there a trick to this that I am missing?

are you talking just the replacement blade or the whole arm? if the whole arm, at the base of the arm you will see a little loop/circle that you need to pull up with the windshield arm held away from the windshield. when the arm is down and the wiper is against the windshield, the arm locks in this clip which is why you need to have the arm pulled away from the windshield. kind of hard to explain.

No, I'm talking about just the blade. Sorry for the confusion.

on the top of the wiper blade there should be a little tab that is sticking out of the original blade. when you push it down it will release the blade from the arm. take a pic of it. maybe the one on your car is aftermarket already in which case it may be a different way to release it.

Might be a tab on the top you have to pry up with a flat head screw driver and pull off, or put a flat head screwdriver between the blade and the arm and twist, should pop off.
