28 spline vs 31 spline?

28 spline vs 31 spline?

Anyone know the difference they are the same price.....

Not 100% sure but I was told that 31s are for dragging/getting off the line quick with slicks etc. I think you also have to change your diff??? I know hardened 28s can handle decent HP(400+), any particular reason you're changing?

I believe the main difference is that the 31 has 3 more spline than the 28. :wink:

Im still working on my notch and the splines come with a 5 lug conversion package but you have to choose..

Oh ok thought for your Cobra...in that case get the hardened 31s and a non-Auburn posi and let her rip!

The new mustangs come with 31. The are thicker for more strength and more splines due to width(thickness). The are obviously made for higher power than stock 93s have. As mentioned you will need another differential to make them work. Good luck

Yeah well get some good hardened 28s then (Yukon, Moser) and you should be good, unless you are talking crazy HP to the wheels 8)

how much would a different differential cost? What exactly does that entail? I really just set it up to cruise the street not going to be drag racing.
