heater core bypass?

Post by blacksvt »

Took by car out this morning and noticed it leaking out from firewall. Must be heater core. Want to bypass it where it goes into core at back of motor temporarily until I tackle core replacement. Any one have a part number for a U shaped hose that will work or have any other suggestions. Thanks

You cant block the ones off on the motor can you? I thought they had to be looped to circulate.

NAPA hose part # 10743 is a U-shaped hose that has a 5/8" diameter on one side with a 3/4" diameter on the other.

No it needs the hose to loop the circulating water from one side of the heating system to the other. Otherwise you would have no flow.

yea today was not a good cobra day. Will try that hose part number to try to loop the water flow. Had to pull the tranny today. Found a toasted Spec clutch and aluminum flywheel. Need to find a Spec flyweel insert and order a new clutch.
