I cant do this, dont have the tools/lift or know how. How much is a fair price? I already paid $350 last week. :x

Or for a real inexpensive possible fix ... use 20W50 oil.

Trust me I would love to learn how to do it, but I dont really have the time and I would be afraid it would be sitting in the garage with pieces everywhere for a few months.

You think the felpro teflon rms is the best bet? Wonder why teflon is better?

ive never used the teflon , i always used the regular fel-pro, with no problems, and i would guess a shop will charge between 300 and 400, oh and its been around 77 degrees here in texas all week!

got my car back, 2nd new rear main seal, they said there was no ware on the crank. They also said this seal fit allot tighter than the last. Also while they were there they noticed some oil coming from the U shaped hump in the oil pan so they took it upon themselves to drop the oil pan and also replace the oil pan gasket.....

So is it normal to see a dime size light drop of oil on the ground? :x

I hope you didn't have to pay to get the rear main seal done for the second time!?!?!??!
I can't believe that the shop would "take it upon themselves" to replace the oil pan gasket as well...
Are you still seeing oil leaking?

Yeah I paid $360 for the rear main seal a few weeks ago but I brought in a rear main seal I bought from LMR.....it leaked still so I brought it back and they bought felpro and redid it plus they did the oil pan gasket while they were in there since they said they saw some oil leaking from it...so another $420.....I actually bring this guy allot of business so I dont think he is scamming I just wish he would have cut me somewhat of a break. Oh well. I drove it home 3 miles to my house parked it in the driveway let it sit for an hour or so then pulled it in the garage. There was a miniscule drop that was very light on the ground so I am praying it was residual or something for the love of all that is holy I pray this thing does not still leak................. :?

Hopefully that was something the shop did not clean up. It's never normal to see oil drops under the car.

Geez i woulda thought they'd warranty their work...
Anyways get under the car with a flashlight and see if there is any residue left. Then wipe it all off with a rag and see if it drips again.

yeah, I had a RMS already that was in my garage. I figured I would save myself a few bucks by just suppling it. Low and behold I screwed myself because they said they wanted to buy a brand new one sealed and all. Mine was new but the bag was open.

You win some you lose some, I didnt really want to get into it with him hes an older gent and runs a shop on the back road and he has always treated me right on my other vehicles.

I just hope for his sake it doesnt leak becuase then I will have to show him my fangs......
