Emergency brake handle

Having a problem with Brake handle when I let it down it tends to let down to the left n rub the side of the console is there any way to tighten it up so it will let down straight?

Grab it and pull it the way it needs to go, it will bend

The whole mechanism moves, the bolts r tight

I think the spring in the handle ends up getting some play in it letting it lag to the left toward the drivers seat. Pretty common issue I have seen with these cars and GT's and LX's.

A lot of people would keep a drink wedged in between the handle and the passenger seat..... I could see that bending the handle out of whack and towards the driver seat.

Yea I think it is play n the spring I guess I will have to replace the whole brake leaver with it being one piece ,what the best place to get one n best $

Is it rubbing the console or just the rubber piece? They sell replacement seals if it is damaged. Kinda a PIA to replace since they plastic welded it to the console.

Rubbing console all ready replaced rubber trying to avoid messing rubber up again

Just pull it out, and look it over, i believe a 94 - 04 brake assembly will work, if you can't fix yours
