start and cutoff

Post by vinchez78 »

Like the title says, I went to start my car up this cold morning and it started fine, then after my morning workout at the gym, I went to start it again and it cranked then cutoff it did it about 5 times, then on the 6th try I pressed the gas a little then started right up, anyone have anything like this happen to them??

Fuel pressure, leaky injector, weak fuel pump, could be possible problems.

Agree with the above.

Also, how much fuel did you have in your tank this am? If you were below a 1/4 tank, that may have been a contributing factor. In really cold weather, you're better off w/keeping more fuel in the tank.

Another easy replacement would be the Fuel filter, never know. Just like what was said above - low fuel and cold could cause an issue as well. Even bad gas.

Yeah. I always make sure my tank is full on all my cars when the weather turns cold.

Low initial voltage from the battery could also have been the culprit. You can have enough volts to turn over but fuel pump doesn't have quite enough to get the job done. Even an intermittent short on the battery internally can cause it too...
