sirius xm radio

Post by pete3323 »

Has anyone installed non in-dash sattelite radio in their cobra? I have a sirius stilletto i'm considering putting in there. Wondering what kind of set ups people used. Where to run wires, antennae etc.. One thing that concerns me is where the lighter is for power. I would have to leave the ash tray door open for power. Anyone figure out a better way? Thanks.

I added XM to my dodge ram. I stripped the wires about 6 inches behind the plug, and spliced into the cigarette lighter wires behind the dash. And mounted the control with Velcro.

Thanks. Looking for more cobra specific info. Don't really like idea of splicing into lighter as it is always "on". Afraid I would forget to unplug! Lol.

I leave mine on 24/7 for the last 5 or 6 years.

Then your lighter is not on without ignition being on like the cobra.

You can buy the terminals that fit under the blade of a fuse, then crimp the female connectors on the power wire.
