Steering rack
How many turns is it supposed to be lock to lock? 2 1/2 or 2 1/4 turns of the steering wheel?

The 93 Cobra brochure lists the steering as 2.22 turns lock-to-lock.

Re: Steering rack
Do you know where I could get one? I had to replace mine, and it's 2.5 lock to lock now. It's been bugging me ever since. Any suggestions?

Re: Steering rack
I believe that the change from 2.5 to 2.25 is a product of the rack limiters (http://www.latemodelrestoration.com/ite ... ter-6-Pack), not the actual rack. The only Fox Mustang options from the factory were the 15:1 (2.5 turns) "sport rack" and the 20:1 (3 turns) rack that was on the 2.3L cars. There was manual steering on early foxes, but obviously not on any 93 Cobra.
If your steering changed, I have to think you got the standard ratio rack instead of the sport rack.
It should be noted that any aftermarket rack is probably going to have a light steering feel more associated with a Lincoln Town Car than a Mustang. Sucks, but unless you somehow get a NOS rack or have your original rebuilt, that is probably what you will end up with.
BTW, all you want to know about Mustang steering rack efforts can be found here...
