D, I seriously doubt it, the oil pan gasket, is a rubber over steel gasket, unless your car is high Mileage, it is more than likely the rear main, or the front seal, it could also be coming from the oil dip stick where it goes in the block.

DB you may have been on strike when this topic was covered? but here is some rear main info for you, if its the front seal you have to remove the belt, crank pulley, balancer, to change . also check all your pan bolts for tightness, just snug them up, dont crank em down.

I have changed a few rear main seals and it's a tedious job! I would rather change the oil pan gasket. Wipe off and clean the oil pan and back of the oil pan. See if you can tell where it's coming from the next day.

Also check the pcv valve behind your intake, maybe it came loose and is leaking.

X2 to what Aaron said.

And it's worse than replacing a heater core, if that tells you anything.

Less labor hours than replacing a heater-core. I don't think DB will be working on his own car, sounds like he is estimating per labor hour. :help:

done... 1 day at the ford dealer = $500 bucks. Rear main, had to drop the transmission.

also got the drivers side (for passenger window) switch replaced. and fixed the bezel around my shifter (took off the SVT tag). looking good.

NO MORE OIL DRIPPING. (it wasnt bad, maybe 2-3 drips a week), but i couldn't stand it, and at Mohegan sun car show in the ballroom carpet (wouldn't be a good idea).

LETS GET THIS CAR SHOW SEASON STARTED! :burnout:
