Rough Ride

Post by MJH »

Here lately when I drive the 93 it feels really rough. If I hit a bump in the road it's like it has no suspension at all. What most likely do I need to replace. I know some are going to say replace nothing so it will be original but I like to drive it that's why I bought not to just look at it.

Check the struts . See if they are leaking oil . Push down on each corner of the car to see if any are bouncy or hard to push like with a stuck strut or shock.

I went out and pushed on the front it hardly moves no matter how hard I push, the back seems to move fine. I push on it and rebounds nice and smooth.

The one I had , I tried driving down bumpy gravel road, tried rocking the car , tried jacking that corner up, nothing I tried worked.

A very good choice. An even nicer strut IMO are the Tokico Illumina adjustables.

Has anyone installed the 03/04 Mach 1 struts on a 93 Cobra which has not been lowered? I've read various things, and just want to make sure I get my facts correct.
I'm still considering replacing my struts with the 03/04 Mach One Tokicos and want to make sure this will work without swapping out a bunch of SN95 parts.

Sounds like you have frozen front struts. Sometimes if you spray the shaft with wd40 and let them soak they will come back to life. I have to replace mine for the same reason. I'm using struts from a 04 Mach so ill let you know how it goes.

Had the same problem with my 98 Cobra. Found myself flinching before a bump from how hard it took it lol. Definitely replace the front struts, a good ride is the enjoyment of driving. :D
