Funny you mentioned the spout. I pulled it and it passed on all (hydrocarbons etc..) but still fails on CO. With the spout in it fails everything.

i wonder what would happen if you had an exhaust tip that was bigger than your pipe ? like the newer diesel trucks. so it would siphon fresh air before exiting the end of the pipe.

Is the testing different by county? Ive lived in Texas for twenty years and never had an emission test on a dyno? If nothing else works, Id put a stock h-pipe on it for the test.

That's what I said earlier, my county doesn't do emissions test, it only around Houston, Dallas, el paso, I think. Like a said he can ho to a non emissions county if he signs a waiver.

I'm going to try cleaning the air filter and MAF. Last resort I'll try to find a stock hpipe. Don't want to sign a waiver if it's not true. I live in the DFW area.

You mentioned your car is not a DD. If you've already spent $100 in repairs (or will do so) to attempt to pass emissions, you may qualify for the low mileage waiver. You'll spend way more than $100 to get a stock H-pipe.

I called the DPS about this and they said since I just bought it I can't qualify under the low mileage waiver. I have to had driven it less than 5,000 miles in the previous 12 months. Thanks for the link.

Damn! I thought the Northeastern states were tough on emissions. Apparently, it's worse down in Texas!

Arizona is rough as well, but I think places in Cali are the worst!

It finally passed. I had someone run a cleaner in the engine to loosen things up and pulled the spout again. The CO went down to .30 from 1.08. We are required to have .69 or better. I am so relieved.
