I did some research and found multiple sources that stated there was a TSB for inaccurate dipsticks in 5.0 Mustang engines, including 93. The information says to drain both plugs, swap filter and fill with 5 quarts of oil. This will be well above the hashed area.

Like I said earlier in this thread ...

I've been changing my own oil in 5.0 Mustangs for nearly 25 years and 5 quarts w/a filter change is correct.
