Wheel Options and Information

Post by jsmithgt500 »

I have searched and would like to see if I can get any more information on any options available for aftermarket wheels for our cars. If possible please post up pictures of your aftermarket wheels, including any specific 5-lug setups.

I am trying to see what everyone runs and why.

thank you

As I do like the stock ones, I would hope there would be more options than a 5-lug swap. Ive read some posts about using regular Gt front discs because the hat height is less. I am assuming this is true and would work well if someone wanted to run a replica wheel on the front.

Most people switch to 5 lug for more wheel options. They make a replica 5 lug cobra wheel, they pop up for sale from time to time, on the corral there may be another list for ordering a set. Really just depends on what you are looking for, some people do use a GT rotor to change the top hat, thus running a replica style chrome wheel and such.

With the rear on our cars these replicas will stick way out, correct? I was thinking the front rotor swap would solve the front fitment, but the back is still an issue.

If the rear end is centered perfectly in your car the rear wheels will sit flush with the fender lip and imo looks better than stock.

Agreed.

I'm running 17x8 chrome 4-lug '95 Cobra R replicas at the moment (with the mint condition originals sitting in the garage). I'll try to find a pic of the car from directly behind. Here's a side angle pic.

If you go with those wheels.... Just a suggestion...do something different and do them in black chrome.
