Hahaha no, but no one carries gatorback belts around here that I know of? Plus amazons price is much cheaper

Did you get the car running? What was the overall setup?

Yeah I got it running the next day! It is a stock cobra with a vortech v3 sci kit on it.

You're running stock fuel components with the fmu? What psi did you end up at?

I did end up putting in a 155lph pump, but not sure I needed it. It ran good before. I also put in new plugs gapped at .035. Other than that it is all stock with fmu. I have no idea what the psi is? The kit says 5-6 psi, but I have no idea what it really is. Oh I do have bbk headers and off road h pipe with flowmasters.

Looks great in there. How does it feel? Pretty noticeable with the 5-6 psi?

Well when it had 3.08's in it it was noticable, but not like I had hoped. Now that I put 3.73's in it... holy shit balls it is so much better. Boost is almost instant now where it took forever to build with the 3.08's. It is more than I will ever need. Say good by to your tires in first and second. Even at 40 in second will put you sideways if you ease into full throttle!

That's fantastic. Thanks for sharing. I always like to gain more knowledge of whats these cars are capable of.

Dixie's description is cool, but these cars are capable of a hell of a lot more than this!

They are, but I just wanted a very mild well running street car.

Unlike a turbo, there is no lag in getting boost from a supercharger. That "lag" you felt was simply the mediocre performance you get from the taller 3.08 gears that came from the factory. It had nothing to do with the Vortech. The mild boost you're running hasn't changed at all and doesn't change the performance of these cars as much as one would expect. The shorter 3.73 gears are a significant upgrade that are the major reason your car now has the quicker acceleration that is so enjoyable. :drive:

Actually that is only half true... The main reason it feels better is that it gets in and stays in the power band longer with the 3.73's. The vortech doesn't build much boost untill 3000 rpms and up. The 3.08's took forever the get to 3000 plus rpms vs the 3.73's. That is why the boost feels more "instant" than it did withe the 3.08's. I also never used the word lag... i also never said the amount of boost changed, just the way it comes about at a faster rate due to the gear change and staying in the power band. But please do go on like i know nothing about cars... I have only been doing this for over 20 years

Thanks everyone. I know it can be frowned upon to modify these cars. I just don't see many stock based builds on cobras.
