Whatcha think?

Post by 1986Browns »

I bought my car from the original owner and this battery was in it upon purchase from him. How old is this battery? Is it the original?

They normally stamp numbers around the sticker, or on the case of the battery. I don't see numbers on the sticker, is there any others on there?

What about those characters stamped into the case top by the negative terminal post? I didn't see any other identifying marks on the case.

the "A13" is probably the the date i would guess January, 1st 1993, 2003, or 2013? someone in the ford dealer parts department might know for sure.

If you can take it to a Ford dealership, they should be able to tell. I had the same questions around mine, and if I recall correctly... they had to determine who the original manufacturer was (Motor craft is just the label ford puts on it). I think there were two or three different companies over the years and based on that they should be able to take those marks and tie it to a year.
