1993 Cobra Registry

From a place in Canada, the place has painted ones with the correct short line. Confirmed that they are painted with the shop. Ordered a set today, will update when received.

Is the middle of the lense dark enough to be correct for our cars?

The lenses on my car almost look black (never sat in the sun, always covered in a garage, low mileage car) where these look a tad bit too gray to be correct? Maybe it's just the poor lighting and a very bright background in the pic posted above? A comparison shot with some NOS or extremely nice originals by the seller would be a great help to potential buyers.

Agreed. Although the painted stripes are much better than the cheap repros you typically see.

Hard to tell about the colors on a photo, especially with subtle shades. The 93 was the SVO gray, not black, but I will see how well it matches when it gets here. I have redone a couple of lenses myself but always have minor issues with the stripes. It will be nice if these are made correctly and match colors well. Worth a shot, anyway, and these are the first I have found that use painted stripes, and have the short line at the proper place. I received a note from them that it will take 10 days to ship because they did not have both in stock, so I will update when I finally get them.

The guy at the shop did tell me these painted lenses are made by Daniel Carpenter, so I am pretty hopeful that the colors will be correct. His repro stuff is usually pretty good. I have a NOS lens from Ford for the passenger side that has never been installed so I will have a good unit for comparison.

if shade of gray is same as SVO that looks right to me. Dan knows his repro stuff so it should be correct. Some people wax or apply some sort of detail prep on them which sometimes make them look much darker than the original dark gray finish.

I just spoke with Joel at the store. He called Daniel Carpenter to find out what's up. They told him that they have a production run going right now. They had a quality issue with the previous run and did not want to send out an inferior product. The new run will be shipping in a couple of weeks, and we should have our lenses by the end of February at the latest. If you do not want them anymore because of the delay, just call the shop at 888.707.0774 and let them know. I have noticed these guys are not very good at responding to email, but when you use the telephone they have good service.

No, the guy at the shop said they normally have them in stock, and usually get their orders from Daniel Carpenter quickly. He said that the delay is unusual. If Carpenter held them back because of a quality issue, and the new batch is better, I am OK with the delay. The car deserves perfection.

I received an email today showing that a shipment is on the way from this vendor, and they charged my debit card. I should have the lenses by 3/1/16. I will update once I have them and take a couple of photos.
