Wasnt a GT it was only on the 95 Cobra vert and only a few hundred were made. It was going to be a production option across the board on all verts but they tested the waters on the Cobra since it was the highest priced car to see if it would sell, well it didnt so it didnt go any farther into production.

yea i've read about that but that year i bought my 95' v6 mustang brand new in high school an the dealership had a v6 convertible next to my car with that optioned hard top. i think you could've special ordered that top for your car.

Not a bad idea in theory for the cold weather climates where convertible tops in the winter make for a very cold interior. But removable hardtops were too cumbersome and usually very expensive, again the reason why there wasn't many made. They should engineer ALL convertibles with a retractable hardtop.

Ya that would be perfect but cars just aren't that long anymore, that's why they went away from it, back then you had room for a top and 10 bodies, ha!

the hardtop option WAS in addition to the regular folding vert top. if you are out and it starts raining you just put the the normal top up. it was just like the t-birds of the 50s and 2002 up.

On the black cars it looks great. Same lines as a hardtop car. I've actually had people come up and ask how I rolled my rear windows down when I had the hardtop on they thought it was a coupe.

Just like the ones in the video above notice how the one on the right has the windows up and looks like a regular coupe unless you look close and see the small moulding between the hardtop and rear deck. Then the one on the left has the windows down.
