Man every 99-01 Ive owned I've had trouble selling. You get a nice car that you need to ask 10-13900 for to make anything and people think for just a few grand more they can be in a 03-04. Then if you have one too cheap people think something is wrong with it.

X2. The engine could use a severe deep cleaning to make it look better. Interior looks like it could use a good scrubbing too.

I've always liked the car, but they are a bitch to mod, and costs a ton of money to do so without much gain/reliability. It would be a cool car to drop in one of the newer drivetrains, just for fun.

That's why you have to be patient not all cars sell fast it's not a desirable year and it looks pretty dirty not exactly eye catching just drop the price

Shoot at that price you would think it would be gone regardless of a detail or not. Heck I just sold a nice GT 01 with 100k on it and salvage for 6500. Looks like that Cobra is a no brainer.

On the flip sounds like you lucked out, I bought an 02 GT 114k miles for $5,500 very clean I just thought those years don't really have a following

Next to the 64-70 Mustangs, 87-93 Mustangs are the most desirable. With an honorable mention to the 71-73s, 85-86s and 03-04 Cobras.

Back in '03 I had an electric green/black interior '99 Cobra (1 of 185). Beautiful. Had 30k miles. I put '03 chrome Cobras on it. I think I barely got $14k for it back then. The power problems in the '99 model year didn't help their reputation. Then the Terminator made everyone forget about the '96-up Cobras. LOL.

If you did not post that comment, I was going to post nearly an identical response - LOL!!

It's sad but true what he said, after the 99 Cobra fiasco, no 00 Cobra and then the emergence of a supercharged factory Cobra for 03 - the values of the 96-01 DOHC Cobras plummeted and essentially flat lined. Even mint 99 and 01 Cobras w/ very low miles, it just seems like they are a hard sell anywhere. It takes the right buyer to come along who's looking for just a 99 or 01 Cobra who does not care about what happened w/ the DOHC issue or the 03-04's being supercharged.
